Is your knee making stairs, walks, or getting out of a chair harder? Dr. Christopher Cordima can evaluate your knee and discuss whether decompression belongs in your care plan.
Start with a conversation about your concerns and next steps.
Knee decompression applies a controlled pulling force, called traction, at the knee joint. It is designed to gently unload the joint without an incision or injection.
Whether it is appropriate for you depends on your history, examination, and any relevant imaging.
While you sit with your leg supported, Knee On Trac applies a gentle, controlled pull to your knee. This is designed to temporarily ease pressure within the joint. The goal is less discomfort and easier movement—so everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, or getting up from a chair can feel more manageable.
We start with what matters to you: walking more comfortably, managing stairs, bending your knee, or returning to favorite activities. The examination guides which care options we discuss.
Discuss your symptoms, diagnoses, previous treatments, and the movements that are difficult.
Review whether decompression, rehabilitation, or other care options fit your findings and goals.
If you begin care, your response helps guide the next steps. Results and timelines vary.

Bring any available imaging reports and details of previous care. Tell us about knee surgery, a joint replacement, or a recent injury. Not every knee should receive traction.
We’ll explain your findings and discuss recommendations and costs before you choose a care plan. If another evaluation is needed, we’ll explain why.

Knee decompression uses controlled traction to apply a gentle pulling force at the knee joint. It is a non-surgical procedure that may be considered as part of an individualized knee care plan.
No. Decompression does not replace the knee joint and does not involve an incision or implant. It is not appropriate for every condition or a guaranteed substitute for surgery.
Yes. Bring your imaging reports and previous treatment information. Dr. Cordima will discuss whether non-surgical care in our office may be appropriate. A diagnosis alone does not establish candidacy.
Tell Dr. Cordima about any surgery, joint replacement, recent injury, or other medical condition before treatment. These can affect whether traction is appropriate, and further evaluation or clearance may be needed.
The recommendation depends on your examination, goals, and response to care. We will discuss a proposed plan and its cost before you decide whether to proceed.
We do not promise cartilage regrowth, reversal of arthritis, or avoidance of surgery. Your evaluation helps establish realistic goals and determine appropriate next steps.
Tell us what’s been bothering you, ask your questions, and get a clear understanding of your options.
Dr. Cordima will listen, evaluate your concerns, and explain whether care here may help—or recommend another next step.
